Some areas that your dental professional will check when you have an appointment are your tonsils, back of throat, and oral mucosa. Sometimes we may have discomfort, swelling, or areas of concern that need care and attention.
There are some great options for throat care that you can take advantage of from your own home.
If you find that you have discomfort in your throat or swallowing, the Protective Blend Throat Drops are a great way to get relief. Convenient and easy to take with you, these individually wrapped drops have a sweet cinnamon flavor that you can enjoy while you soothe that scratchy, irritated throat.
Warm salt water rinses are a great option to soothe irritated oral and throat discomfort. Add a drop of one of the following before you gargle, swish, and spit: the On Guard Protective Blend, Clove, Oregano, Thyme, Tea Tree, Turmeric, or Myrrh Essential Oils.
Dilute and apply Juniper Berry Essential Oil, Tea Tree Essential Oil, or the Purify Cleansing Blend to the neck where the throat pain is felt, and along glands in neck to help promote healthy lymph nodes.
Fill a mug with hot water, then add one drop each of: Oregano, Tea Tree, Lemon, Eucalyptus, the Easy Air Respiratory Blend, and Peppermint Essential Oils. Place a towel over your head to create a tent, lean over the mug, and breathe deeply for a few minutes. You may want to do this every four hours the first day you have a scratchy, irritated throat, and then continue as needed.
