STEP 6 – LIP CARE

broken image

Ever experienced this? Some have reported a tingling sensation that later becomes an area of discomfort on the outside of their mouth lasting from one to two weeks.

If this is a feeling you have experienced, did you know that Essential Oils can support healthy lips as well?

Apply one to two drops of Melissa Essential Oil directly on the area of concern. If you don’t happen to have any Melissa on hand, consider using the following Essential Oil options:

• Tea Tree

• Lemon

• Thyme

• Geranium

• Ginger

• Oregano

• Sandalwood

Nourishing your lips is an important part of oral health care. Dry, chapped, or cracking lips are not only unsightly, but can be discomforting too. Our SPA LIP BALM is a natural formula containing plant oils, botanicals, and Essential Oils to hydrate and soothe lips while delivering the unique scent and taste of Essential Oils. This extra-moisturizing lip balm contains coconut, moringa seed, and avocado oils along with beeswax to glide easily across the lips, leaving behind deep hydration that lasts throughout the day.

Available to you in three unique flavors: enjoy the original aroma of Wild Orange and Peppermint; or experience the scents of paradise with Ylang Ylang, Clementine, and Lime Essential Oils found in our TROPICAL LIP BALM; or invigorate the senses with our HERBAL LIP BALM, containing Lemon Verbena, Marjoram, and Spearmint Essential Oils.

HONEYED GERANIUM LIP SCRUB RECIPE

• 1 tbsp. Organic Cane or Brown Sugar.

• 1 tbsp. Raw Honey (locally farmed honey is preferred).

• 1 tbsp. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil or Jojoba Oil.

• 1/4 tsp. Vitamin E Oil

• 2–4 drops of Geranium Essential Oil (you could also use Peppermint, Frankincense, Lavender, or our Active Botanical Nutritive Duo. Have fun with it!).

Stir Sugar, Honey, and Coconut or Jojoba Oil together until you get the consistency you desire. Then stir in the Essential Oils. Store the mixture in an air-tight container (for example: a small mason jar). To use the scrub, first be sure your lips are dry. Take a small amount on your fingers and vigorously rub with light pressure across your lips for about thirty seconds. Leave the mixture on for about a minute. Then, gently remove it with a warm, wet washcloth. For best results, immediately use one of the Essential Oil lip balms discussed above. This will help to seal in the moisture.

Sometimes it is not your lips that you have concerns with, but inside-your-mouth irritations. Topically apply Melissa, Lavender, Basil, Black Pepper, Clove, the On Guard Protective Blend, Frankincense, Helichrysum, Geranium, Blue Tansy, Turmeric, or Yarrow/Pom Essential Oils to the occasional sore or area of concern on the inside of the mouth or on the lips.
